The Feltham Heritage Project is a 2-year funded programme by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund. The aim of the programme is to increase engagement in heritage in the west of the Hounslow borough, create a package for local schools and provide the public with an annual Local History Day event. The project has been developed in partnership with both voluntary and statutory organisations, led by Feltham Arts Association, to initiate a collaborative programme designed to increase local history learning and engagement in the west area.
The partners in the Feltham Heritage Project are: Feltham Arts Association (lead partner), Libraries, Feltham Local Studies, West Area Schools, and London Borough of Hounslow. The project will result in a range of innovative arts-led, heritage outputs including: A photographic exhibition; An illustrated map of the area with interactive elements; A series of schools’ workshops; A physical resource pack for teachers, which will include archive material, worksheets, suggestions for activities and the illustrated map; An online resource.
Along with the above, a major element of the project is the creation of an historically accurate, engaging and entertaining theatre piece, which brings the heritage to life. The audiences for this piece will be diverse including school children, adults and families.
We wish to commission a suitably qualified theatre company, to take a key role in researching, devising and performing this piece. The theatre company will also create and deliver a drama workshop to the schools taking part.
We wish to commission a suitably qualified Web Designer, to take a role in the design of the project outlined above as follows:
1. Setting up pages on Feltham Arts website www.felthamarts.org (Squarespace)
2. Uploading Illustrated map, exhibition photographs and various material to Feltham Arts Website
3. Other contents of schools pack e.g. work sheets
4. Promotions for Feltham History Day
